Political Career: Appointed deputy on June 7, 1991; elected in
1992, re-elected in 1996, and 2000. Minister of State (August 11, 1992 - May 25, 1995).
Minister of National Education, Youth and Sports in Rafic Hariri's third government
(November 7, 1996 - December 3, 1998). Minsiter of
Foreign Affirs and Emigrants in Rafic Hariri's fifth governmnet (Aprilo 17, 2003, October
26, 2004).
